His lack of courtly manners annoys Tassin, while he finds the spoilt young queen a trial, and her high-handed ways too often land her, and, by association, Sabre, in trouble. About the Author
T. C. Southwell was born in Sri Lanka and moved to the Seychelles with her family when she was a baby. She spent her formative years exploring the islands – mostly alone. Naturally, her imagination flourished and she developed a keen love of other worlds. The family travelled through Europe and Africa and, after the death of her father, settled in South Africa. T. C. Southwell has written over thirty novels and five screenplays. Her hobbies include motorcycling, horse riding and art.

I wanted to jump into the book...

I wanted to jump into the book... and STRANGLE the female lead. I understood that her behavior was mostly because of the fact that she was a Queen, but I couldn't stand that it took so long for her to grow as a person! The storyline, characters (besides her), and the writing were all done well. I just can't stand constantly wishing the book would end with the brutal and gruesome death of the heroine!

Great read....better than I expected

Dang it....now I'm going to have to pay to get the other volumes of this story.....Loved that it was free and I stayed up late finishing it only to realize that I would have to buy the other volumes. But at least they're listed for under $5.00. The story started out strong and continued in this vein all through the book. Great writing style and flow of the story.

After reading this....I went straight to Kindle and bought the remaining five books in the series. Well written and proofed....a gem for free.
