Well-Crafted and Clean Fantasy

As a fan of Tolkien and Lewis, I am picky about fantasy and look for three things in a new book: cleanliness, enjoyability, and good storytelling style. Keepers of Fire did not disappoint. M.K. Casperson mixes just enough reality with her fantasy to create a believable story and characters that force the reader to think seriously about good and evil. Not to say that this book is just heavy battles and philosophy; filled with elves, sirens, demons, and the like, it has the style of an old English or Celtic fairy tale. That is to say, if you enjoy quests, mysterious temples, and a bit of romance, this just might be a book for you.
