The explosive conclusion to Nexus and Crux.

Global unrest spreads through the US, China, and beyond. Secrets and lies set off shockwaves of anger, rippling from mind to mind. Riot police battle neutrally linked protestors. Armies are mobilized. Political orders fall. Nexus-driven revolution is in here.

Against this backdrop a new breed of posthuman children are growing into their powers. And a once-dead scientist, driven mad by her torture, is closing in on her plans to seize planet's electronic systems and reforge everything in her image. A new Apex species is here. The world will never be the same.

Ambitious conclusion to the Nexus series, will not disappoint
By Elizabeth Aoki
First off, if you are just coming to Nexus - do NOT start with this book. It means much more, and the scope of the ending more amazing, when you start from the beginning book Nexus, read the second Crux, and devour this one. This review is written from reading a beta copy of the book.

Second, for those who have been waiting for this book - it will not disappoint. Ramez Naam takes on the implications of the Nexus drug from micro to macro in all the books, but in the third he really shows you what macro means. The political and technological ripples continue outward. There are dark places and dark moments those ripples bring humanity to. The growth in Naam's writing style throughout the series is evident and he needs it, because this is a more ambitious, complex book than the other two.

Third, it's really hard for me to review this book without reaching for spoilers. I will leave it at this - Naam is pretty evil to his characters but for humanity, he is an optimist (as you would see from his nonfiction books as well). The ending is earned, and definitely satisfies.

Nailed it--again! Mind-expanding Futurist Vision + Ethical and Political Brain Chow
By M. Weaver
Reading this book was like getting sucked through a dark water slide at a gut-wrenching pace--I would literally go to work and catch myself thinking about the story and what was going on with the characters. Naam accomplishes something many sci-fi authors don't: his writing packs in relevant futurist and technical details and light-handed political commentary while sucking the reader through a suspenseful, engaging, can't peel-you-eyes-off-it plot. The characters and plot can be disorientating, with some challenging ethical concepts woven in. This book is, amazingly, great for both those who want a thoughtful (and highly informed!) vision of the future and those who want an invigorating story.

Great conclusion to an excellent trilogy.
By Marcos
I only read Nexus and Crux recently (earlier this year), and was thrilled to see I had only to wait until May for the third and final book in the series. Start with Nexus, and read the entire trilogy. It's full of philosophy, hacking, action - but above all it is extremely thought provoking. The perils and promise of what the "nano-drug" Nexus and associated inter-connectivity would mean.

The final book did not disappoint - raising the stakes, building suspense - I stayed up until 1AM to finish it. So glad I found this series.
