About the Author
David and Ta'Lishia Batts are originally from Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Conceived in 1998, the Hard Acceleration series was completed in 2006. After spending six years in Memphis, Tennessee, David currently works as a travel nurse throughout the state of California, while Ta'Lishia Batts resides in Dallas, Texas. This is their first novel.

Excellent storyline!

First off, I want to say that the storyline was FUN and caught you up early on! I did not want to put the book down. It felt as though I was there in the TAR and could really relate to the characters. The characters were very well developed in the story. I could feel the different personalities.
The only reason I took off a star is that the grammatical errors got too noticeable in the last quarter of the book. The grammatical errors brought my brain back to Earth and almost made me lose my immersive experience. But I am waiting for the sequel and definitely will buy and read that one too!

Might be a good book with some serious editing.

David is sick of his dead-end life. So on impulse he hops on his bike and heads out of Kansas. Unfortunately his emotions get the best of him and he ends up in a high speed chase with the police. When the chase ends up on tv David is offered a job racing a motorcycle. But this isn't just any job, he's going to be in the Transcontinental American Race. This is the story of not only his race, but how he finds himself and his purpose in life.
I wanted to like this book so badly. It has motorcycles and racing in it. That alone was enough to make me want to pick it up. But I wasn't a page in before I realized it was going to be a tough read. This book is in desperate need of some editing. I wasn't even finished with the first chapter before I found enough errors to fill a notebook page. The spelling, grammar, and syntax were a complete mess. Entire words were missing or replaced with something out of context. Here is an example - "He caught my attention as I asked him if he needed my help." I think with a really good editor, this could be a highly entertaining book, but the writing is so confusing that I had a really hard time getting through. I gave the book to two other people, in case it was just me. Both of them returned the book without making it past the first chapter. Here's hoping a revision happens and the world can read about the author's experiences.
